Last Day For Startups 100
Posted on 14th April 2014
Entries for the prestigious Startups 100 list were extended earlier this month due to popular demand but the new deadline is today (April 14), so anyone who has not yet entered needs to do so now.
Launched in 2008, the Startups 100 celebrates the UK’s 100 most exciting, inspiring and disruptive new businesses, and each year sees the country’s top start-up talent revealed, all of which demonstrate innovative concepts, fast-growth potential and forward-thinking founders.
To be eligible for the index, start-ups must be privately owned, UK-based, and launched on, or after, 1 January 2011. They must also be able to demonstrate innovation, success or the potential for fast growth.
As well as the prestige of being on the list, entrants who make it will receive invaluable press coverage, as well as recognition from peers and customers. Being on the list will also help to improve staff morale and will certainly impress potential investors.
Last year’s list included myParcelDelivery.com, Adzuna and Mainstage Travel, all of which have gone on to secure major funding, while winners in previous years include Zoopla and Naked Wines, now market leaders in their field.
Like many of the other entrants last year, myParcelDelivery.com has entered every year since it was set up and moved up 12 places from 2012 to win the coveted number one spot in 2013.
Buoyed by its success in the competition, the business continues to thrive week by week and has seen growth of more than 700 per cent since it was set up in January 2011. The firm also has plans to move into European markets.
